People are at the heart of Nestwell. We want our team to feel valued, supported and able to thrive. Our strong benefits package and fair contracts give you stability, opportunities to grow, and the tools you need to deliver compassionate care.
We believe people matter, so we offer fair terms, supportive leadership and a working environment where you feel valued from the start.
Our 37.5-hour contracts come with set shift patterns, working a shift every other weekend when full-time. Pay starts at £12.60 per hour, with generous evening and weekend enhancements – all aligned with the Real Living Wage Foundation. We also offer part time contracts.
You’ll receive generous sick pay, pension contributions, Medicash benefits and paid mileage to support your wellbeing and day-to-day work.
You’ll begin with a three-day induction and continue to develop through ongoing, paid training. We also support you to gain recognised qualifications, including diplomas in health and social care.
Your dedicated line manager will meet with you regularly, helping you access training, grow your skills and move into roles such as team leader or positions across the wider hospice group.
We never offer rushed 15-minute visits. Our calls are longer as standard, giving you the time to build meaningful connections and deliver thoughtful, person-centred support.
We supply and pay for your uniform, PPE and any other equipment you need so you can focus on caring safely and confidently.
We’re proud to be part of Southern Hospice Group, where all our profits help fund vital hospice services. As a social enterprise, every hour spent caring supports both the people you care for and the wider community.

I joined Nestwell Care in 2017 (then Martlets Care) after 29 years as a primary school teacher. I am now a senior care professional. My duties vary and may include providing personal care, shopping, preparing meals, assisting with medication and exercises and providing companionship.
Although I work independently, I am always part of a wider team with my fellow care professionals, Martlets palliative care team and the clients and their families.
As a Nestwell Care professional, I feel valued and appreciated within the community. I know that the job I do makes a difference to peoples well being and the quality of both theirs and their families lives – and that does me good too!
I’m a proud Nestwell Home Care (formerly Martlets Care) carer, the best part of my role is the satisfaction of helping people, and giving something back as they looked after my beloved brother in the past.
We all give 100% to our clients – they are given person centred care as we believe everyone is their own person and not just a number or a name. I love the empathy from the Nestwell Home Care team, including the resources provided to both carers and clients.
I’ve only been in the care industry for 18 months, after deciding I wanted a career change. To say I love my job with Nestwell Home Care (formerly Martlets Care) is an understatement, the people I meet and the gratitude they show make it so worth while. The job entails so many different things from making people comfortable in the palliative side to giving people more independence by helping them do their weekly food shop. Each client has different needs and different care plans, which makes my job variable every day.
I have always worked in Recruitment, but after leaving that to look after my children, and then looking after my Nan for a few years, I realised caring for others was something I could do.
Working for Nestwell Home Care (formerly Martlets Care) is very rewarding, knowing that I make a difference to someone’s day however small, is heartwarming.
-Nestwell have a great team of people in all areas, they all have the same ethos for person centred care. We are well supported, and all take care of each other, as well as our clients. Also, knowing that all profits are going back into the Hospice is a huge bonus too.
As a Nestwell Home Care Professional (formerly Martlets Care), I head home each day feeling tired. But, with a strong sense of satisfaction that my work has made a difference. How many jobs give you that feeling?
